Battle of Colt-Aviv by shisarakage
Battle of Colt-Aviv
I meant to get this uploaded before it was framed, but until recently, I've been having troubles with getting my art onto my computer. Anywho... One of the story arcs I'm doing for a nowhere-near-postable fanfic involves most of the world outside Equestria in a sort of stalemate war with Changeling hives, each continent having their own unique hives. This particular image is of one of my leaders in the Equestrian Armed Forces, Sergeant Starhoof, about to clash with a Changeling blitzkrieg fighter in the sandy hills outside of Colt-Aviv.

Heh heh heh... That bug won't know what hit it!

Another blow comes to us from the hands of Death. Alan Rickman, whom most would know as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter movies, has passed away. He lost a battle I never knew he was fighting... the battle against cancer.

Of course, like most, I remember him as Severus Snape, but I also remember seeing him in a late 70's rendition of Romeo and Juliet. He was also the voice for the caterpillar in one rendition of Alice in Wonderland (though I can't recall which one) and the voice of the chronically-depressed robot from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. He will be missed... and Potions Class will never feel right anymore... not without him sneering over our shoulders.

Farewell and sleep peacefully, Alan. Though we've never met, you've made an impression on my life much the same as Robin Williams, Leonard Nimoy, and Monty Oum. This Ravenclaw will never forget you.

Being an empath... even partially,is a bitch sometimes. One of my roommates got some terrible news a mere 30 minutes into his shift - A dear friend of his, one who was beyond close to his heart, was killed in a car wreck. He managed to make it through his shift, and about three hours after he got home he finally broke. Being a partial empath, I can sometimes feel exactly what someone else is feeling, if its strong enough - or if I personally have experienced that feeling myself.

This situation falls into both, sadly. Sixteen years ago, roughly, I lost my girlfriend when her family's car was hit by a train. I'd somehow gotten to the wreck site before the ambulance, and had the soul-crushing, crippling experience of having her die in my arms. To this day I still have moments where I see my hands once more soaked with her blood.

That experience those many years past is how I can say I know the pain my roommate feels. Add in the sheer force of his feelings, and you've got my current situation... at the time of writing this, my own heart has been in physical pain for an hour, and I know it ain't stopping anytime soon. All I can do is simply be here and act as I always have in times like this - the understanding, mostly-quiet should upon which to cry one's heart out.

To all of you out there who know the pain of loss via death, you know what I mean when I say that his pain will never end, and may in fact never even lessen that much given his closeness to this friend of his. You'll also - hopefully - understand when I say the fires of the pain of loss will forge us all anew. Remember this, all of you reading now...

I may never be physically there during your own hard times, but my soul shall always weep with you, seek to comfort you, and look forward to the days when you can once more show the world just how brightly you shine.

I came across a facebook post that was an image of several creepypasta characters, and the text on the image was 'Repost if you love creepypasta. I want to see how many people are out there.' Not only did I repost that image, but I wound up writing a short poem to go with it.

We watch, we hunt
We plot, we wait
Your tears, your blood
Your fears taste great

A smile, a hiss
A darkened kiss
A claw, a fang
A frenzied twang

You turned, you're lost
You ran from a bat
You read some notes
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT

No longer secure, no more contained
No longer protected, forever blood-stained
Just one thing left, and then you can weep
All that remains is to GO TO SLEEP

Seriously, my brain is weird. That poem came unbidden to my mind, flowed from my thoughts to my keyboard without hesitation, and never once did I need to backtrack to correct any mistakes. And, eerily enough, the various stanzas all pertain to some aspect of creepypasta, some are just more obvious than others.

Didn't think Akamaru liked my kids as much as they like him. Plus, Sakura-Chan's deadly accurate with that camera...Kinda glad I'm not in that picture...
